I am the Founder and Executive Director of Kids 1st Foundation and creator of the HBCU Making Moves Tour, based in Oakland, California.

My work is centered on creating access, opportunity, and stronger pathways to college for Black students. Through Kids 1st, we expose young people to HBCUs through the HBCU Making Moves Tour and provide year-round college preparation through the Making Moves Institute for HBCU Access, helping students and families navigate the path from high school to college.

This work carries forward the legacy of Carl F. Ray, who created the Black College Tour in 1987. My goal is bigger than getting students onto a college campus. I want them prepared to succeed, persist through graduation, build meaningful careers, and reach back for the generations coming behind them.
